DVD is very common in our community as most of the people got DVD players at home. Nowadays, people watch a lot of movies without knowing their formats. Sometimes if you cannot play DVD/CD on your player, it might because of the DVD format although most of the DVD players are multi-format.

What is NTSC standard?
The NTSC Standard (National Television System Committee) is used by many countries on the American continent as well as many Asian countries.

What is PAL Standard?
The PAL standard (Phase Alternating Line) was implemented in most European countries except for France.

What is SECAM Standard?
The SECAM standard (Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential Colour with Memory) was implemented in France.

Difference Between PAL and NTSC
The main differences between PAL and NTSC are as follows:
- PAL televisions produce 25 frames per second while NTSC produce 30 frames per second
- PAL signal is sent out at 50 fields per second while NTSC signal is at 60 fields per second
- PAL format has better picture quality and resolution compare to NTSC format

How To Convert PAL to NSTC format
